Job summary

Thimble Alterations seeks an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process. This is an independent contractor role with bookings provided through our platform and flexible scheduling in Terre Haute, IN.

You will conduct fittings, customize gowns, create bustles, and assist with bridesmaid and ceremony attire, guiding brides on timelines and what to expect on the day.

Qualifications

• Bridal alteration experience with portfolio or references welcomed.
• Confident working with high-value gowns and ensuring proper fit.
• Strong customer-facing presence to calm and guide brides.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline and sleeve adjustments.
• Create bustles tailored to dress design and bride preference.
• Handle bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride dresses alongside the main gown.
• Explain timelines and expectations to brides throughout the process.
