CLFC Healthcare and Communications is building a Maryland roster of certified ASL interpreters for state government assignments, delivered in person or by video. Work includes public meetings, agency appointments and formal proceedings, with some long assignments done in teams.

Interpreters join as independent contractors on per-assignment basis, choosing assignments, with two-hour minimums and premium for short-notice requests. On-site and video options available across Maryland.

Qualifications

• Current national certification from the RID (NIC, NIC Advanced, NIC Master, CI/CT, or CSC).
• Maryland licensing compliance when it takes effect (Jan 1, 2028). CLFC supports the process.
• Professional interpreting experience in community or government settings, in both directions.

Responsabilités

• Interpret between spoken English and ASL in meetings, appointments, trainings, and proceedings.
• Match signing mode to consumer preference and relay into spoken English.
• Deliver remote video and on-site assignments with stable video/audio; reconnect if dropped.
