Job summary

PENQUIS is seeking Direct Care Professionals in the Bangor area to support individuals in residential and community settings. This role helps clients build independence, maintain meaningful community connections, and work toward personal goals with dependable daily support.

Openings include full-time, part-time, and per diem positions with flexible scheduling. Paid training for required certifications is provided, along with on-the-job support and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR/First Aid certifications preferred; paid training to obtain these certifications offered by Penquis.
• Ability to use or learn computer skills needed for agency programs and applications.
• Ability to meet Penquis background-check requirements upon hire and periodically thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Teach living skills according to each client's treatment plan.
• Complete objective documentation using required forms or electronic records.
• Support problem solving and the daily supports needed to meet client goals.
• Maintain cleanliness of the home and help plan, shop for, and prepare balanced meals.
• Transport clients to community locations, events, and appointments.
