Labette Health's Independence ER is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to deliver rapid assessment and comprehensive care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will collaborate with physicians, EMS, and the nursing team to ensure timely interventions and safe patient outcomes.

We value strong critical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. BLS is required, and ACLS/PALS/TNCC are preferred or obtainable after hire.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous emergency nursing experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Provide care for patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergencies.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to physician orders and protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, EMS, and teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Support a culture of patient safety and teamwork.
