Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is hiring a part-time Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) for the 2026–2027 school year in Blue Ash, OH. The role involves working with students who are blind or visually impaired to develop safe, independent travel skills within school and community settings.

You will provide instruction, assessments, and service plans across school environments, collaborating with families and school staff, with guaranteed hours and on-site support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Orientation & Mobility or Visual Related Field.
• COMS credential through ACVREP or equivalent recognized credential.
• Active or eligible for NH credential required for school O&M services.

Responsibilities

• Provide O&M instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Conduct O&M assessments and reevaluations.
• Develop and implement O&M goals and service plans.
• Teach safe travel skills across school, home and community.
• Instruct on spatial awareness, sensory efficiency, and mobility techniques.
• Use long cane and mobility tools effectively.
• Address street crossings and public transportation in instruction.
• Monitor progress and adjust lessons as needed.
• Complete evaluations, progress reports, and IEP records.
• Collaborate with families, TVIs, teachers, therapists, and staff.
