Job summary

Best Buy seeks an Income Tax Intern to support the Federal and State Income Tax team in preparing, reviewing and analyzing income tax compliance filings and related tax data at our Richfield, Minnesota headquarters. The role offers hands-on exposure to the corporate tax function, with on-site four days per week and remote work framing on Fridays.

You will gain experience with tax returns, tax provisions, estimated tax payments, and tax research while building a professional network and exploring

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2027 and spring 2030
• Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time)
• Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 5/31/2027- 8/6/2027

• Support the collection, validation, and analysis of tax data used in income tax filings.
• Reconcile book-to-tax differences and prepare supporting schedules.
• Assist with state apportionment calculations and state-specific modifications.

Job description

As the Income Tax Intern, you will support the Federal and State Income Tax team in preparing, reviewing and analyzing income tax compliance filings and related tax data. The internship provides hands on exposure to the corporate income tax function, including income tax returns, tax provisions, estimated tax payment and tax research. This internship will also provide you with the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, build your network with Best Buy employees, and explore a wide range of career paths.

This internship will be available from June to August 2027. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. This position is not eligible for immigrationsponsorship.

Internal Best Buy employees: a limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for hybrid/in-person roles for current Best Buy employees.
