Job summary

Gainesville City Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for Centennial Arts Academy for the 2026-2027 school year. The paraprofessional will assist certified staff, support students with IEP goals, and reinforce reading, language arts, and mathematics.

Responsibilities include small-group instruction, classroom assistance, behavior support, field trips, and parent communication to enhance student inclusion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or 60 college credits.
• GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required (or equivalent).
• Experience or ability to support students with special needs and IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce reading, language arts, and math with students.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist with classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.
• Support instruction and behavior management to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist with non-instructional duties such as lunch, bus, and playground supervision.
• Accompany students on field trips and participate in parent communication to involve families.
• Assist students with disabilities to participate in activities and support IEP objectives.
• Participate in IEP processes as needed.
