Job summary

Chicopee Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to deliver the district curriculum to students with diverse needs under Unit A contract. The teacher reports to the Building Principal and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement individualized education programs.

Responsibilities include organizing the classroom, coordinating paraprofessionals, drafting IEPs and progress notes, and communicating with families and case workers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Massachusetts teaching licensure required.

Responsibilities

• The teacher organizes and structures the assigned classroom.
• Collaborates with teachers, coordinators, and administration to support student needs.
• Plans and supervises the classroom schedule.
• Develops and implements curriculum plans.
• Coordinates paraprofessionals and other staff in the classroom.
• Drafts IEPs and progress notes; maintains student progress records.
• Communicates with case workers and multidisciplinary team members.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college/university
