Meriden School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support students with multiple handicaps and autism under supervision of teachers. Responsibilities include academic and physical assistance, mobility support, and participation in OT/PT routines.

The position may begin as a substitute paraeducator with no benefits and an hourly rate. The role requires a Para-Pro Certificate, an Associate Degree, or 60 college credits; lifting up to 50 lbs and flexible scheduling are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a Para-Pro Certificate, an Associate Degree, or 60 college credits.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with personal care.
• Flexible and able to adjust to schedule changes as directed by the teacher/principal.

Responsabilités

• Provide academic and physical assistance to promote student achievement.
• Support students in all aspects of their day in diverse classroom settings.
• Assist with Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy routines as needed.
• Perform therapy activities and mobility assistance as required.
• Assist with field trips and life skills instruction.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the teacher or principal.
