Job summary

The Meriden School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support students with diverse needs under the supervision of special education and regular education teachers to promote student achievement of goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include assisting with Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy routines, mobility for students, personal care, feeding, toileting, data recording, and participation in field trips and life skills activities, with flexibility to adapt to schedule changes

Qualifications

• Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and support student instruction.
• Flexibility to adjust to schedule changes as directed by teachers/principal.
• Additional coursework and/or experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all school activities and support students with diverse needs.
• Support Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy routines and therapy activities.
• Provide mobility assistance and personal care including feeding, toileting, and grooming.
• Assist with field trips, life skills instruction, and other duties as assigned.
