North Lawrence Community Schools in Indiana seeks an Inclusion Instructional Aide to support students with diverse learning needs. You will assist in small groups or one-on-one, prepare materials, and help maintain a calm, supportive classroom environment.

You will supervise students, help with routines, track attendance and progress, and collaborate with therapists and teachers to provide holistic support. A high school diploma is required, with 1–2 years in related roles preferred.

Formación

• High school diploma required; 1-2 years in a related field preferred.
• Equivalent education or experience acceptable.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to work with diverse learners and staff.
• Strong communication with students, parents, teachers.

Responsabilidades

• Assist teachers by providing direct support to students in individual or group settings, aiding in the completion of learning tasks.
• Supervise students during activities including recess, lunch, field trips, assemblies and classroom work.
• Step in to lead or assist classrooms during the teacher’s absence (meetings, parent conferences, emergencies).
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, including worksheets and notes; assist with cleanup.
• Maintain student records, including attendance, field trip documentation, student files and grading.
• Support students with makeup work, assignments, and learning tasks as directed by the teacher.
• Work closely with physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to ensure holistic support.
• Record and report behavioral concerns or incidents following established protocols.
• Administer first aid until the school nurse assumes responsibility; assist with mobility-related needs and bus transportation.
• Assist substitute teachers in managing the classroom, prepare correspondence, and perform other duties as assigned.
