Job summary

North Lawrence Community Schools in Bedford, IN seeks an Instructional Aide to support Lead Teachers in creating a safe, engaging learning environment for children from birth through age six.

Under supervision, you reinforce lessons, assist with routines, help manage materials and transitions, and promote social-emotional development while complying with Indiana licensing regulations and Rising Stars policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for full-time employment.
• Successfully pass all required background screenings.
• Complete all required onboarding paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Reinforce activities and routines planned by the Lead Teacher.
• Assist with classroom management and prepare instructional materials.
• Support individual children and small groups under supervision.
• Assist with transitions (arrival, meals, outdoor play, rest, dismissal).
• Observe and communicate observations to the Lead Teacher.
• Maintain accurate documentation when requested.
• Prepare classroom materials, bulletin boards, displays, and learning environments.
• Ensure materials are clean, organized, and accessible.
• Provide individualized assistance to children with varying needs as directed by the Lead Teacher.
