Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field required.
• Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting, preferably in higher education.
• Knowledge of learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other neurodiverse conditions.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies and educational software.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and creating an inclusive campus.
• Knowledge of ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Fair Housing Act.
• Commitment to professional development and awareness of current case law.

Responsibilities

• Educational Strategy Development: Design and implement learning strategies and accommodations for students with disabilities, and promote universal design in education.
• Student Support: Conduct assessments and develop personalized learning plans with coaching in study skills and time management.
• Faculty Collaboration: Support accessible teaching methods and provide guidance on inclusive instruction.
• Resource Development: Create materials and guides to support students and faculty in accommodations.
• Training and Workshops: Plan sessions on disability awareness and access models for staff and students.
• Case Management: Maintain records, monitor progress, and liaise between students, faculty, and the Office for Disability and Access.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with office teams to ensure a unified approach to student success.
• Professional Development: Stay current on learning disabilities and accessibility practices.
