YMCA of Central Florida is seeking an energetic Group Exercise Instructor to lead inclusive workouts that challenge participants of all levels while keeping safety and enjoyment in focus.

You will stay current on wellness trends, deliver clear instructions, and motivate members to achieve personal goals within a welcoming, diverse environment. Excellent customer service and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certification preferred prior to hire; must obtain within 60 days.
• Ability to choreograph music with group exercise movements.
• Desire and ability to work with people of all ages, improving health and fitness at all levels.
• Friendly, customer service oriented attitude with members and staff.
• Certified GX certification from listed bodies or a 4-year degree in Exercise Science or related field in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead an inclusive workout, with modifications for all levels.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information and support.
• Arrive prepared and on time to all classes with clear instructions.
• Use verbal and visual cues to coordinate movement within tempo and music.
• Adjust choreography on the spot based on participants' needs.
• Actively recruit and retain group exercise participants.
• Engage with participants during class and maintain eye contact.
• Motivate members toward personal and program goals.
• Build relationships and connect members with YMCA programs.
• Utilize tools and information to increase member wellness knowledge.
