Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking a Part-time fitness instructor to lead engaging group classes at the Y, ensuring safety, inclusivity, and a positive environment for participants of all fitness levels.

You will deliver well-structured classes, answer participant questions, and stay current on wellness trends to support health and well-being. The role emphasizes community building and adherence to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Current group fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization.
• Minimum one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.
• Ability to teach two or more class formats desired.
• Certifications subject to annual audit.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Asks and answers questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being.
• Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Instructors are expected to adhere to the scheduled format and description of the class.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture.
• Celebrates achievement of program participants related to program and personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergencies.
• Keep accurate class attendance record.
• Contact supervisor with any equipment issues.
• Music selection must be appropriate and in line with the YMCA's position as both a community and family-based organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
