Job summary

York County School Division seeks a Teacher - Special Education (Inclusion) for 2026-2027 at Bethel Manor Elementary School. The role involves providing an instructional program for students with disabilities and collaborating with staff and families to develop IEPs that meet each student’s needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in education or related field.
Virginia license with Special Education endorsement or eligibility.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
Ability to develop and maintain required records and written reports.
Proficiency with computer software and web-based applications.
Ability to travel to more than one work location if itinerant.
Ability to monitor student behavior in various environments.

Responsibilities

Teach instructional program for students with disabilities.
Develop individualized education programs (IEP) in collaboration with school staff and parents.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
Collaborate with general education teachers to plan for specially designed instruction.
Adapt and modify curricula to student needs.
Conduct assessments and record progress according to guidelines.
Participate in Child Study, Eligibility, and IEP committees.
