The Hope Academy is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our Providence, RI team. You will help create a culturally responsive learning environment and support students across reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

You will assist with curriculum implementation, data collection, behavior guidance, and collaboration with teachers and therapists. This role emphasizes inclusive practices and ongoing professional growth.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of RI Teacher Assistant Training Program and ParaPro Assessment.
• Exceptions: Certification as TA in another state or an Associate/Bachelor's degree accepted.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the teacher in creating an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment.
• Help plan, prepare and implement the curriculum as adopted by The Hope Academy.
• Provide individual and small group instruction under supervision.
• Support students' educational, functional and therapeutic goals per IEP when needed.
• Assist with data and records (attendance, progress monitoring, data).
• Demonstrate culturally informed discipline and positive guidance.
• Facilitate social, emotional, and cognitive growth through positive language.
• Assist with student self-care when applicable.
• Relay family experiences to supervisor and school leaders.
• Maintain classroom and school equipment.
• Supervise students during in-class and out-of-class activities.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.
• Assist in evacuation during drills and emergencies.

Educación

Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program (RI)

ParaPro Assessment

Certification as a Teacher Assistant in another state
