The Champaign Park District is seeking a part-time CU Special Recreation Afterschool Program Leader to engage with youth after school. In this role, you will lead activities such as arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play while ensuring the safety and well-being of participants.

This position is perfect for those passionate about youth development, especially with individuals with disabilities. Ideal candidates will be energetic and patient, thriving in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old, 21 preferred for driving responsibilities.
• Interest in working with youth and individuals with disabilities.
• Availability during afterschool hours (2:15 PM - 6:00 PM).
• Experience assisting with or leading structured youth programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, inclusive activities aligned with seasonal curriculum.
• Support participants' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Enforce program expectations and maintain a safe environment.
• Supervise transitions, free play, and higher-risk activities.
