West Essex YMCA is seeking an Adaptive Fitness Instructor to lead safe, inclusive group exercise sessions for participants with diverse abilities. You will adapt activities, provide clear instruction, and foster a welcoming, empowering environment within YMCA programs.

The role emphasizes inclusion, safety, and meaningful engagement, with a focus on building confidence and independence among participants. Strong communication and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• National Group Exercise Certification required.
• Adaptive Fitness, Inclusive Fitness, or Special Populations certification preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, inclusive group exercise classes per YMCA and industry standards.
• Prepare for and deliver classes suitable for varying ages and abilities with modifications as needed.
• Provide clear verbal/visual instruction and demonstrate proper technique.
