Job summary

Fitchburg Public Schools in Fitchburg, MA, is seeking a Paraprofessional for inclusion support. The role supports teachers and students with and without disabilities, ensuring safety and applying innovative instructional strategies, including technology, to boost learning.

Starting date to be determined, 185 days/year, with salary in the $21.75–$26.04 per hour range. CNTR includes professional development and holidays as negotiated with the district.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 credit hours required.
• Meet Parapro or WorkKeys assessment.
• Ability to work with teachers, staff and parents to problem solve.
• Experience with students with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support student(s) with or without disabilities.
• Assist classroom teacher in implementing academic/social/behavioral needs.
• Ensure the safety of students across all settings of the school day.
• Under guidance of the classroom teacher use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including technology, to increase learning and confidence.
• Follow professional practices consistent with the district's policies with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Attend and participate in meetings according to school policy/CBA.
• Maintain and improve professional competence through attendance at professional development events.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by district policy.
• Support teachers and administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Promote equity and appreciation of diversity for equitable opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal/SPSA.
