Job summary

Sweeny ISD is seeking an Inclusion Paraprofessional to support individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. Under supervision, you will assist with IEP implementation, self-help, behavior management, feeding, bathroom needs, and personal care, including transfers and positioning.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus either an associate’s degree or two years of higher learning, and a valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or two years of college coursework.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Help meet individual needs of students including transferring to/from wheelchairs and assisting with personal care.
• Assist with behavior management and intervene in crisis situations as directed.
• Recognize differences in students' needs and adapt methods accordingly.
• Assist with motor skills development and instructional exercises.
• Support students during lunch, bus, and playground duties.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems.
