Western Governors University is seeking an IT Security Analyst II to protect applications, systems, and networks. The role emphasizes incident response, security operations, and cross‑functional collaboration with infrastructure and risk teams in a dynamic security program.

The candidate will work with MITRE ATT&CK framework, SIEM/IDS tools, and cloud security practices to strengthen defenses and improve detection capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT security, CS, engineering or related field.
• 3 years of information security experience.
• Experience analyzing SIEM, network, event, and IDS logs.
• Experience with MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Experience implementing security standards and best practices in a corporate setting.
• Scripting (Bash, Python) with automation knowledge.
• Experience with regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Experience designing and deploying security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response and related security efforts (forensics, continuous monitoring, IDS/IPS).
• Investigate security events using SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, firewalls, and related tools.
• Analyze logs and network traffic to identify anomalies and threats.
• Collaborate with architects and risk teams to implement security controls.
• Improve incident response and security operations through documentation and automation.
