Job description

The pay range per hour is $26.00 - $44.20.

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience, and certifications. ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of operations, process, and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring products are merchandised, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store. This team manages Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food-safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.

Role of Inbound Operations Team Leader

As an Inbound Operations Team Leader, you will develop skills in:

  1. Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture
  2. Retail business fundamentals including sales trends, inventory management, shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions
  3. Planning daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and sales goals
  4. Leading and coaching a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, evaluating, and retaining talent
Typical Responsibilities
  • Understanding sales goals, executing workload plans to meet department and store sales and guest engagement targets
  • Leading and sharing expertise in operations, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Establishing clear goals with your leader and holding team members accountable
  • Utilizing workload planning tools to ensure areas are guest-ready at store opening
  • Assigning daily tasks based on workload and traffic patterns, aligned with business priorities
  • Working a schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends
  • Reviewing backroom and sales floor areas to identify and resolve gaps
  • Ensuring product availability for purchase
  • Supporting organizational and operational change initiatives
  • Building and developing a team through onboarding and ongoing training
  • Demonstrating inclusivity, valuing diversity, and creating equitable experiences
  • Leading a safety and compliance culture, including safety behaviors, hazard correction, and incident reporting
  • Modeling physical security processes and supporting merchandise protection strategies
  • Following safe and secure training if applicable
  • Addressing emergency and compliance needs
  • Supporting guest services such as cashiering, order pickup, and Drive Up while ensuring compliance with laws
  • Creating a welcoming environment for guests and team members
  • Engaging with guests and assisting with their needs, thanking them for shopping at Target
  • Performing other duties as needed based on business requirements
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Age 18 or older
  • Preferred but not required: retail experience
  • Ability to lead, learn new technology, work independently and in a team, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively
Additional Expectations

Ability to access all areas of the store, interpret instructions, handle cash operations, climb ladders, move merchandise safely, and work in varying temperatures. Reliable attendance and a flexible schedule are essential.
