Job summary

Harmon Scrap Metal LLC is seeking an Inbound Inspector to inspect inbound materials for compliance with company policy and legal requirements, while ensuring safe yard movement and clear communication with customers and drivers. This role emphasizes accurate data entry and adherence to safety standards in a busy scrap-yard environment.

Responsibilities include inspecting materials, guiding traffic, and making informed decisions on rejections and purchases, with training and development

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
• Ability to communicate using hand signals and two-way radios.
• Ability to learn laws and regulations governing scrap metal purchasing.
• Ability to make decisions regarding the quality of metals received according to policy.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all incoming material to ensure it meets company quality and safety standards.
• Guide traffic flow in and out to maintain safe traffic patterns and coordinate with the scale house.
• Directly communicate with customers, truck drivers, and operators to direct unloading.
• Make decisions about commodities purchasing, rejections, or deductions as needed.
• Enter all appropriate information into the software immediately upon inspection.
• Attend and participate in internal meetings and required training.
