Job summary

KIK Consumer Products in Houston is seeking an Inbound Materials Verification Specialist to verify incoming raw materials against POs and Bills of Lading, ensuring certifications align before entering production. This is a 1st shift role, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with overtime on Saturdays.

You will work with QA, Inventory Control, Purchasing and Logistics to keep materials flowing. Requires 2+ years in receiving/warehouse, 2+ years forklift experience, PO/BOL/COA/COC knowledge,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in receiving/warehouse within manufacturing or distribution.
  • 2+ years of sit-down forklift operation.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of POs, Bills of Lading, COAs/COCs, and OS reporting.
  • Experience with ERP or WMS and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify incoming loads against POs and Bills of Lading (item, quantity, lot, and condition).
  • Audit Bills of Lading and resolve discrepancies directly with carriers, vendors, and Purchasing.
  • Post same-day receipt transactions in ERP systems (DSI / AS400 or JD Edwards) with high accuracy.
  • Prepare Receiving Count forms and route to Incoming Inspection for disposition.
  • Print receivers and checklists; verify COAs/COCs meet KIK specifications before releasing material.
  • Create OS (Overage, Shortage, and Damage) reports for any variances; elevate to Purchasing and QA as needed.
  • Confirm inbound materials carry the correct KIK item numbers when tied to a BOM.
  • Scan and distribute Bills of Lading to appropriate departments; hand off COAs/COCs to designated QA personnel.
  • Verify Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) have proper approvals prior to shipment.
  • Maintain audit-ready filing of all receiving documentation.
  • Follow site safety, GMP, and chemical-handling rules, including PPE and SDS protocols.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to safely unload, stage, and put away incoming materials.
  • Check in drivers, review the KIK Driver Rule Sheet, and uphold carrier safety expectations.
  • Receive, catalog, and distribute UPS/FedEx small packages.
  • Process miscellaneous orders from start to finish.
  • Participate in cycle counts and plant physical inventory activities.
  • Partner with QA, Inventory Control, Production Planning, and Logistics to sustain steady material flow.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

A day in your life as our Inbound Materials Verification Specialist

It’s 8:00 a.m. at our Houston facility. The first truck is at the dock and you’re the first checkpoint. You match each drum, tote, pallet, and package to purchase orders, confirm documentation, and make sure every certification lines up with our specifications before anything reaches production. Throughout the day, you’ll partner closely with Quality Assurance, Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Logistics so the right materials flow to the right lines without delay. This is a 1st shift role, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with overtime on Saturdays as required. Base pay: $23.69 per hour.

What you’ll take ownership of

Physical requirements and work environment
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs; heavier items with assistance or mechanical aid.
  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, and reach during an 8‑hour shift.
  • Active warehouse environment with variable temperatures, noise, dust, and chemical odors; required PPE includes safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, and hearing protection.
  • Overtime and occasional weekend coverage as business needs require.
