Job summary

Pathmark Transportation is seeking an Inbound Dock Supervisor in McAllen, TX to oversee daily receiving and unloading operations. You will supervise dock personnel, coordinate inbound shipments with transportation and warehouse teams, and maintain communication to meet service expectations.

The role requires 2+ years in warehouse or dock settings, supervisory experience, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of warehouse, receiving, dock, or freight-handling experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of receiving procedures, shipping documents, and inventory controls.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inbound dock employees, assign daily responsibilities, and monitor productivity and work quality.
• Coordinate trailer arrivals, dock assignments, and unloading priorities to keep freight moving and minimize delays.
• Verify incoming freight against bills of lading, manifests, and receiving documents.
• Ensure freight is counted, inspected, scanned, labeled, and staged in the correct locations.
• Document and report freight shortages, overages, damages, and receiving discrepancies promptly.
• Communicate shipment delays, staffing needs, equipment issues, and operational concerns to management.
• Train and coach employees on receiving procedures, freight handling, scanning equipment, and safe work practices.
• Enforce company safety procedures, including proper lifting, forklift operation, trailer securement, and pedestrian awareness.
• Ensure equipment inspections are completed and unsafe or damaged equipment is reported and removed from service.
• Maintain clean, organized dock areas with clear aisles, exits, and access to emergency equipment.
• Address employee performance and attendance concerns consistently with company policies.
• Complete shift reports and provide clear handoffs regarding pending freight, exceptions, and priorities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce freight damage, improve receiving accuracy, and increase dock efficiency.
