Job summary

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) invites a strategic, operational leader to serve as inaugural Director of Membership. You will guide the membership program through the move to a new museum and its first years, shaping strategy, campaigns, and member experiences.

You will supervise the Membership Manager, partner with Development, Marketing, and Guest Services, and build staffing and processes to handle peak times while aligning with CMOM’s mission and growth goals.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in membership, audience engagement, development, or related fields.
• Proven ability to grow or improve membership and audience programs.
• Strong data analysis to segment audiences and forecast trends.
• Experience with lifecycle marketing and performance measurement.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of CMOM’s family membership strategy through transition and beyond.
• Redesign levels, pricing, benefits, and positioning with museum leadership.
• Ensure access via free/discounted memberships and sustainability goals.
• Create multiyear revenue and expenditure projections through FY30 and beyond.
• Use research, data, testing, and benchmarking to guide decisions.
• Collaborate with Development to deepen philanthropic engagement.
