Job summary

Colonna's Shipyard is seeking an In‑Yard Material Coordinator to handle shipping, receiving, and movement of materials across the yard. The role is full-time and onsite with potential non-standard hours to meet business needs.

Responsibilities include validating tag info, inspecting shipments, coordinating material transport, moving shop materials, and operating forklifts or pallet jacks. Travel may be required. Colonna’s offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of related experience.
• Position may require the obtainment of certifications such as a Man Aloft Certification, Shipyard Competent Person Certification or CPR Certification.
• May require ability to obtain and maintain appropriate level of security clearance depending on the contract.
• Must be willing to work 2nd and 3rd shifts and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Validate tag information against visual inspection and determine correct transport method.
• Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and coordinate with ship’s superintendent to rectify.
• Coordinate transportation of materials to various berms for disposal.
• Move shop materials and tools to and from job sites, including heavy equipment.
• Protect and move government furnished material per policies.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks).
• Transport and dispose of trash and scrap in designated bins.
• Oversee yard laydown area and log daily material movement.
