Job summary

Pacer Group in South San Francisco, CA, seeks a scientist with degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in chemical biology or related fields to advance inflammation and metabolism programs. The role includes in‑vivo dosing in rodents, immunoassays, and molecular biology techniques (Western blot, qPCR).

You will work independently within a collaborative team to drive target identification and therapeutic development.

Qualifications

• Experience in inflammation, metabolism, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with small laboratory animals, especially rodents; in vivo dosing and handling.
• Familiar with immunoassays and standard molecular biology techniques (Western blot, qPCR).
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a dynamic team.
• Experience in target identification/validation, adipose/liver/muscle biology, immunology related to insulin resistance.
• Evidence of scientific productivity from publications/presentations.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments with minimal guidance in design, execution, and interpretation of complex studies.
• Support target identification, validation, and therapeutic development.
• Own a project and expand technical expertise at the bench.
• Communicate complex experiments and concepts to a broad scientific team.
• Establish assays and model systems for mechanistic investigation.
• Present data to cross-functional project teams.
• Scour literature to identify opportunities for new and existing programs.
