Labcorp is seeking a Research Assistant III to join our Antibodies Reagents & Vaccines team in Denver, PA. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, First Shift

Job Summary In this role, you will work under minimal supervision supporting tissue culture and immunology laboratory operations, including the processing of blood and tissue samples, assay execution, antibody production activities, and assay method development and qualification in compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines. This role is responsible for conducting laboratory analyses, maintaining study documentation, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring the integrity and quality of scientific data. The Research Assistant III will work collaboratively with scientific and operational teams to support research projects, hybridoma development, in vitro production processes, ELISA testing, flow cytometry, viral assays, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment while delivering high-quality data, supporting client needs, and ensuring project timelines are met.

Job Responsibilities
  • Organize, perform, and document procedures associated with tissue culture laboratory operations.
  • Assist in the development, refinement, qualification, and implementation of laboratory methods and assays.
  • Serve as a lead technician on assigned projects, providing technical guidance and support to laboratory personnel with appropriate supervision.
  • Perform general tissue culture procedures, including cell culture maintenance, daily monitoring, freezing and thawing of cell lines, and cell enumeration.
  • Support hybridoma development activities, including cloning, cell evaluation, record keeping, and client communication.
  • Conduct in vitro production activities, including cell expansion, viability estimation, cryopreservation, and documentation of production records.
  • Operate small- to medium-scale bioreactors as required for cell culture and antibody production activities.
  • Perform ELISA assays, including assay execution, quality control review, data analysis, documentation, and communication of results.
  • Perform flow cytometry assays, including assay development and optimization and data analysis with FlowJo software.
  • Organize, conduct, and analyze results from a variety of laboratory assays and experiments.
  • Document laboratory activities and maintain accurate study documentation and laboratory records.
  • Independently set up, maintain, operate, and perform routine and non-routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Perform quality control review of data and ensure compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow established quality procedures, including environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance logs, laboratory documentation, and procedural compliance.
  • Prepare media, reagents, solutions, and other laboratory materials required for testing and production activities.
  • Communicate problems, deviations, or issues that may impact data integrity and participate in corrective actions.
  • Research and evaluate new methods, technologies, and materials to enhance laboratory capabilities and maintain competitive services.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the planning, monitoring, and execution of project activities.
  • Train and assist less experienced laboratory staff on laboratory methods, equipment, and departmental procedures.
  • Act as a technical resource for antibody production and tissue culture-related activities.
  • Participate in client visits and conference calls as needed, providing technical information and scientific support.
  • Support process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating data for inclusion in written reports and study deliverables.
  • Effectively utilize personnel and laboratory resources to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Assist in writing reports, methods, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Help maintain laboratory supply inventories and ensure availability of required materials.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related life science. 1 or more years of experience as a research assistant. 4 or more years of laboratory experience. 1 or more years of experience with tissue culture and assay techniques and standard laboratory equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of experience with antibody production, hybridoma development, or immunology-based laboratory services.
  • 1 or more years of experience performing ELISA, antibody isotyping, viral assays, ELISpot, and cell-based assays.
  • 1 or more years of experience with flow cytometry method optimization, data collection, and analysis with FlowJo software.
  • 1 or more years of experience supporting assay method development and qualification activities.
  • 1 or more years of experience operating analytical instrumentation and/or bioreactor systems.
  • 1 or more years of experience writing or revising laboratory documentation and good documentation practices.
  • 1 or more years of experience training, mentoring, or guiding junior laboratory staff.
  • 1 or more years of experience interacting directly with clients and providing technical support.
Additional Job Standards

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, including working in laboratory hoods and at standing workstations.
