Job summary

Labcorp in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Lab Assistant to join a fast-paced, production-oriented laboratory team. The role focuses on receiving and sorting clinical specimens, preparing them for testing, and ensuring accurate data entry and orderly records.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and may bring prior healthcare or lab experience. The position includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within Labcorp.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital.
  • 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.
  • 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 12 AM - 8:30 AM

Job Responsibilities:
  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
  • 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
  • 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
Additional Job Standards:
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
