Job summary

Lilly in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an experienced in vitro biologist to join a collaborative drug discovery team. You will design and validate disease-relevant cellular assays, perform molecular analyses, and contribute to advancing cardiovascular and renal programs.

This onsite, full-time role requires a hands-on scientist comfortable with owning projects and collaborating across disciplines. We value deep lab expertise, strong communication, and a drive to move data‑driven programs forward

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of cell biology or related field experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship not provided.
• Hands-on molecular and biochemical assay experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement in vitro and cell-based experiments for preclinical characterization.
• Develop cellular assays to assess target engagement and pathway modulation.
• Perform molecular and biochemical analyses on tissue and cells.
• Apply diverse assay detection technologies and validate new ones.
• Utilize cell culture, transfection, FACS, and functional assays.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery.
• Establish new techniques and adapt to emerging data.
• Maintain accurate records and present results in reports.
