Job summary

Avera St Benedict Nursing Home is seeking a Nurse Assistant in training to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. The role provides direct, personal care and services to residents in the skilled nursing facility, meeting daily physical, social, and spiritual needs to support independence.

You will train to become CNA and/or Medication Aide certified, perform routine tasks and support nursing staff, ensuring a clean, safe environment and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required within 120 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• In training to become Nurse Assistant certified and/or Medication Aide certified.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform routine duties as directed by nursing staff (bathing, dressing, feeding, transfers, etc.).
• Take and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respiration, weight) and document findings.
• Assist with restocking supplies and maintain a clean environment.
• Provide emotional, educational, and spiritual support to residents and families.
