Job summary

RadNet in Wilmington, DE seeks an In Suite Assistant 1 to support MRI safety and patient care within a team-focused radiology setting. The role assists MRI technologists and clinicians, handling patient history and safety procedures while maintaining HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI and medications.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and MR Technologist Assistant training with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Completion of MR Technologist Assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to MRI Steering Technologist, Radiologists and administrative staff to ensure optimal MRI safety and patient care.
• Convey patient history to MRI Technologist for accurate MRI safety; assist with coil positioning, patient screening, and observation during exams.
• Assist in set-up of coils, schedule maintenance, and clean-up of MRI suite as needed.
• Safeguard patient properties and PHI in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
• Safeguard medications on site and ensure proper handling.
• Respect company property and patient financial information on site or portals.
• Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers; respond to needs of others.
• Respect patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during interactions.
• Interact diplomatically with patients, families, and the public in a clinical setting.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

You Will

• Provide assistance to MRI Steering Technologist, Radiologists and/or administrative staff to provide optimal MRI safety and patient care.
• Convey patient history to the MRI Technologist for accurate MRI safety, assist MRI Technologists to ensure MRI safety, coil positioning, patient screening and/or history and patient observation during exams.
• Support technologists with procedures as needed; which includes the set-up of coils, schedule maintenance, and/or clean-up of MRI suite
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.

Role

To Ensure Success in This Role, You Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• At least one year experience in medical setting
• Completion of approved MR Technologist Assistant program, including hands-on clinical training
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, public relations and verbal and written communication
• Must be able to assist in lifting patients onto table
