Job summary

Alex Lee, Inc. is seeking a Retail Systems QA Engineer to join the In-Store Retail Systems team in Hickory, NC.

The role focuses on testing in-store retail solutions across POS, mobile, and integrated store technologies, with hands-on validation in a retail lab environment. Responsibilities include designing test plans, executing manual and exploratory testing, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered
• 3–5 years of software quality assurance/testing experience in an enterprise tech environment
• Experience developing/executing test plans, test cases, regression and integration testing
• Experience testing retail applications and POS systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans, cases, and scenarios for retail applications and system upgrades
• Perform manual and exploratory testing across internal and external systems; document and track defects
• Analyze requirements and test results to identify gaps and risks; collaborate to ensure quality outcomes
• Execute regression, integration, system, and UAT testing to ensure readiness for production releases
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and vendors to investigate issues and drive timely resolution
• Maintain knowledge of retail operations to validate solutions across merchandising, inventory, finance, and security
• Develop/test automation opportunities to improve regression coverage
• Stay updated on QA tools, processes, and industry trends to enhance testing efficiency
• Provide guidance to teammates on QA methodologies, documentation, and best practices
• Communicate complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
