Job summary

Scotch is hiring a Product Manager to own the in-store experience for the Android POS terminal merchants use daily. This hands-on role requires watching store usage, setting direction, and shipping with engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience.
• Experience owning a native mobile app as a product surface, heavily preferred.
• A track record of being the only person accountable for a decision, with no one reviewing your work before it shipped.
• A consistent habit of direct customer contact. You've sat with users, watched them work, and changed your mind because of what you saw.
• Sound judgment you can explain. You can walk through a call you got wrong, ideally one you caught yourself.
• Experience running several workstreams at once and making the tradeoffs between them yourself, not only executing on priorities someone else set.
• Clear communication for different audiences. You can write a spec an engineer can build from, then explain the same decision to a merchant, a support lead, and an executive.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for the POS app. Shape the direction for the register experience with us, turn it into a sequence of releases, and defend the tradeoffs to people who'd rather ship something else.
• Prioritize across merchant escalations, platform work, and the long-horizon bets that never feel urgent. Partner with engineering on scoping and sequencing.
• Spend real time in stores with merchants and their staff to learn needs and differences on the ground.
• Translate messy merchant input into a clear direction, and write requirements that describe the problem and the outcome, not the implementation.
• Make sure the app holds up in a real store: peripherals, network, and pace.
• Own releases end to end: decide what ships, how it rolls out, and who needs to know before it lands.
