Houchens Food Group in Middlesboro, KY is seeking an Inventory Manager for a full-time, in-store role reporting to the Store Manager. You will manage and control all elements of store inventory.

The ideal candidate has solid understanding of inventory principles, experience with retail programs, and strong data accuracy, communication, and multitasking skills. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Understanding of inventory principles and store flows.
• Experience with retail programs and systems.
• Excellent computer skills: Word/Excel and data accuracy.
• Strong communication, organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive all product into store inventory and complete receiving processes.
• Oversee/inter-store transfers and credits.
• Validate online orders within 1 hour of receipt.
• Monitor shrinkage and support store manager in reducing loss.
• Maintain data accuracy in inventory systems (qty, dollars, negative stock).
• Ensure adequate inventory levels to minimize outages and backroom stock.
• Manage and support the Computer Suggested Order process.
• Handle pricing changes and shelf tag management.
• Train staff on inventory management best practices.
• Learn and monitor inventory reports and location codes.
• Identify obsolete inventory and implement removal strategies.
• Complete cycle counts and hardware reports.
