Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking an Inventory Manager for full-time, in-store duties in Bowling Green, KY. You will manage all aspects of store inventory, including receiving, transfers, credits, and online orders, while reducing shrink and maintaining accurate data.

Responsibilities include training staff, monitoring reports, cycle counts, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Qualifications

• General understanding of inventory principles and experience with retail programs.
• Understanding the flow of merchandise.
• Experience in a retail environment in inventory, sales, or back office.
• Excellent computer skills. Ability to make sound decisions.
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, Word, and Excel a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, high attention to detail, and multi-tasking.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive all product into store inventory and complete receiving processes.
• Oversee inter-store transfers and verify in/out.
• Process credits and invoiced-but-not-received items.
• Validate all online orders within 1 hour of receipt.
• Manage the store's shrink together with the Store Manager.
• Ensure data accuracy in the store system.
• Maintain inventory levels to minimize outages and overstock.
• Train staff on inventory management best practices.
• Learn and monitor inventory reports and location codes.
• Monitor shrinkage and suggest theft-reduction measures.
• Complete cycle counts and hardware reports.
