Job summary

You will work under the supervision of school administration, collaborate with teachers, and implement behavior-support strategies while promoting a positive classroom culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or four-year degree preferred.
• One year of successful experience working with students to change inappropriate behavior to positive behavior.
• One year of experience working in urban schools preferred.
• Or, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Responsibilities

• Acts in a professional, respectful, and welcoming manner at all times.
• Creates a customer-focused climate and provides quality services and support to the school and other stakeholders.
• Supports and promotes the school’s overall mission and vision.
• Creates a structured, positive learning environment for students assigned to in-school suspension and provides supervision for students who are assigned to in-school suspension.
• Obtains student assignments from the teacher and supervises the completion of the assignment. Returns completed student work to teacher as specified by the teacher and/or administration.
