Job summary

InterContinental San Francisco is seeking an On-Call In-Room Dining Server to deliver exceptional food and beverage service to guests in their rooms. The role is scheduled based on business needs, with shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum two years of food server experience is required, plus knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service. You will lift up to 50 lbs and work independently while supporting the hotel team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms promptly, accurately, and with a friendly, professional approach.
• Provide attentive, personalized service while respecting guest privacy and hotel standards.
• Set up trays, tables, and in-room presentations to meet guest requests.
• Review orders for accuracy, including special requests and dietary needs.
• Clear trays and equipment from guest rooms and hallways in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean, organized service areas and supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hotel procedures to minimize waste.
• Keep supervisor informed about guest feedback, service concerns, and equipment issues.
• Assist with set-up, clean-up, and other ad-hoc duties to keep the In-Room Dining operation running smoothly.

This is an on-call role and may be scheduled 0-40 hours per week based on business need.

What You'll Do

• Delivering food and beverage orders to guest rooms promptly, accurately, and with a friendly, professional approach.

• Providing attentive, personalized service while respecting guest privacy and the hotel's standards for in-room dining.

• Setting up trays, tables, and in-room dining presentations to ensure orders are delivered beautifully and according to guest requests.

• Reviewing orders for accuracy, including special requests, dietary needs, and beverage selections, before delivery.

• Clearing trays, dishes, and equipment from guest rooms, guest floor hallways, and designated collection areas in a timely manner.

• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully stocked service areas, equipment, and supplies.

• Following all food safety, sanitation, and hotel procedures while minimizing waste.

• Keeping your supervisor or duty manager informed about guest feedback, service concerns, equipment issues, low supplies, or safety incidents.

• Assisting with set-up, clean-up, and other ad-hoc duties to keep the In-Room Dining operation running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a food server role is required.

• Previous experience in an In-Room Dining role at an upscale/luxury hotel is preferred.

• The ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs (23 kg), including bending, kneeling, and maneuvering service carts.

• A good grasp of reading, writing, and basic mathematics.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately handle guest orders and special requests.

• A warm, welcoming personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to work independently while remaining a dependable member of the hotel team.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements, with compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations.

• A professional appearance and a genuine desire to create memorable guest experiences.

The hourly rate of pay for this role is $20.47.
