Job summary

Fairmont San Francisco on Nob Hill is seeking an In Room Dining team member who will deliver professional service, guidance on menu items, and timely food and beverage service in a fast-paced luxury setting.

You will work under the In Room Dining Manager, with knowledge of POS systems and strong guest satisfaction commitment, including special projects using Excel/Word in support of dining operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with POS systems (Opera or similar) preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, engaging service to guests.
• Assist with menu items and beverage knowledge.
• Deliver food and beverages timely and accurately.
• Assist F&B Manager with special projects using Excel/Word.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies.

Job Description

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the In Room Dining Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Understands and executes all roles of the In Room Dining (Private dining busperson, server and order taker)due to business needs.
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Have full knowledge of all beverage lists
• Deliver food and beverage in a timely and accurate manner
• Pick up orders efficiently from the kitchen
• Check outgoing orders for quality and accuracy of set up
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
• Assistthe F&B Managerwith Special Projectsutilizing MicrosoftExcel and Word.
• Other duties as assigned
• $28.69 Per Hour

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous Silverware, Opera or similar Point of Sale Programs preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
