Position Title: In Residence Summer Event Crew Member

Reports to: Facilties Management Office

Primary function: The Summer Camp Crew is responsible for supporting the successful setup, operation, and cleanup of events during the summer season. This dynamic role involves a variety of indoor and outdoor tasks including general maintenance, custodial work, parking coordination, landscaping, and other facility-related duties. Crew members work as part of a team to ensure that all event spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff. Position is required to live on campus and have availability for all shifts, including evenings and weekends. Temporary full time seasonal employment. In Residence Summer Event Crew Members must be “on call” according to their supervisor’s schedule and immediately available for imminent, unexpected needs related to their primary function. All members hired for Residence Summer Event Crew must reside on campus during the term of employment.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions. Shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Strong work ethic and reliability and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in any of the listed duties is a plus but not required

Essential Duties

  • Setup and Support for events in the summer
  • Assist with parking, crowd control and traffic flow during events
  • Monitor events to provide support as needed (e.g., empty trash, restock supplies)
  • Maintenance & Custodial Duties
  • Perform light maintenance such as painting, repairs, and basic troubleshooting
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, event venues, and common areas
  • Empty trash and recycling bins regularly
  • Refill restroom supplies and maintain cleanliness throughout shifts
  • Monitor parking lots for safety, cleanliness, and policy compliance
  • Landscaping and Groundskeeping
  • Mow lawns, trim bushes, weed flowerbeds, and water plants
  • Pick up litter and debris around event grounds
  • Assist with indoor and outdoor repairs
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and event participants
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Operate tools and equipment safely (e.g., lawn mowers, hand tools, carts

  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisors
