GEO Reentry Services LLC in Taylorville, IL, seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor to implement Therapeutic Community treatment models for residents at the Taylorville Correctional facility. The role supports on-site services in a correctional setting and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The counselor prepares treatment materials, maintains comprehensive records, and conducts assessments while delivering individual and group counseling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a social or human services field preferred.
• Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling within two years of employment.
• Experience in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit treatment and educational outlines, lectures, handouts and materials as requested.
• Maintain records and daily clinical charting as required by the program or client.
• Conduct substance abuse and life skills assessments and integrate results into resident treatment plans.
• Participate in training and supervision activities.
• Prepare schedules, reports, and information for the program and management.
