Job summary

A leading transportation solutions provider seeks a Part-Time In-Plant Inspector in Cincinnati, Ohio. Plant Inspector
Compensation

Competitive compensation package of $40–$45 per hour.

This is a part‑time position and is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality assurance services at various transit vehicle manufacturers and maintain accurate inspection records of each vehicle.
  • Communicate progress of construction and inspection to client(s).
  • Ensure manufactured buses conform to client’s technical specifications, industry standards, and manufacturer’s quality standards.
  • Ensure each bus is built to the highest level of reliability and maintainability.
  • Represent client and client’s best interests while on‑site during the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure each bus is as free of defects as possible when delivered to client.
  • Provide, at a minimum, weekly written reports to the customer detailing inspection activities, status of bus production, photos, and additional documentation as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate and encourage a “Safety First” lifestyle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and a physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
