Job summary

Arizona State University invites applications for an in-person Instructor position at the Tempe campus. The successful candidate will teach courses primarily in the Writing Program and other disciplinary areas as needed. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible appointment made on an academic year basis (Aug 16 – May 15).

A typical full-time course load is five classes per academic semester. Anticipated start date: August 16, 2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of higher education teaching experience in composition.
• Evidence of effective teaching in college-level courses.
• Ability to teach Writing Programs courses and other department areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate writing courses and other departmental subjects as needed.
• Use Canvas or similar LMS for assessment and feedback.
• Participate in department and university assessment activities.
• Engage in professional development as required.
• Attend Convocation in person at Tempe campus at end of each semester.
