Job summary

NTC Language Services in NYC is seeking reliable In-Person Educational Interpreters for Urdu to work part-time, as-needed. Interpreters will provide in-person interpretation in NYC, supporting students, families, educators, administrators, and school staff.

Applicants must be fluent in English and Urdu, able to travel to assignments, and arrive on time. Prior interpreting experience is preferred but not required; training and professional growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Applicants must read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Urdu.
• Interpret spoken communication accurately and completely between both languages.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
• Arrive on time and remain for the full duration of each assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for parent-teacher conferences, CSE/CPSE meetings, student evaluations, registrations, and school events.
• Interpret accurately and preserve meaning, tone, and intent across languages.
• Maintain neutrality and confidentiality; follow all applicable policies.
