Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Spokane, WA is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to support our Structural Engineering team on real client projects. This in-person role focuses on applying engineering principles to pursue safe, efficient designs.

You will develop calculations, plans, and details for an example building, participate in weekly modules, and gain exposure to education, commercial, and healthcare projects, with site visits to observe project execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of an undergraduate program in structural or civil engineering.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit.
• Proficiency with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn and adapt.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate across disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop calculations, plans, and details for an example building.
• Learn lateral systems and load paths through weekly learning modules.
• Work with engineering teams on active projects and assignments.
• Complete twelve weekly modules taught by structural engineers.
• Collaborate with interns and engineers across the company.
• Attend site visits with project leads when opportunities allow.
• Gain exposure to the variety of project types and teams across the firm.
