Job summary

Braintrust Tutors in Washington, DC is seeking a part-time Math Tutor to strengthen students' mathematical reasoning through our curriculum. You will conduct 1:1 or small-group sessions with K-8 students and align with district requirements to support growth.

The role may include online engagements; a multi-step onboarding process with background checks and training is required before starting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.
Active teaching license or at least 5 years of experience working with K-8 students is required.
Knowledge of math instruction spanning from counting to decimals and fractions.
Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential.
Reliable transportation or appropriate technology for instruction is expected.

Responsibilities

Provide small-group or 1:1 math tutoring to students.
Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs with fidelity.
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and academic performance.
Collaborate with Operations team and school staff to support student growth.
Foster a supportive, engaging classroom environment to promote focus and confidence.
Follow school-site procedures and maintain a professional presence.
Use assessments to guide instruction and plan sessions effectively.
Manage time to complete all planned instructional activities.
