Public Consulting Group in Hammond, Indiana is seeking an in-person Instructor to work with students on employability skills, including communication and job search. You will assess strengths, set goals with students, and guide them toward competitive work experiences.

You will help students build portfolios, teach transportation logistics, monitor attendance, and communicate with the consultant monthly. The role requires daily onsite presence and uses a variety of instructional methods to meet

• Assess student learning strengths and interests.
• With student input, develop goals and outcomes.
• Instruct students on employability skills: communication, technology, problem solving, teamwork, appearance, financial management, professionalism, self-determination, self-advocacy, resume writing, interview skills, and job search.
• Assist student in creating a portfolio with certificates and letters of recommendation from internships.
• Use teaching methods, materials, curriculum fidelity, and adaptations to meet individual needs.
• Assess student progress in classroom and at work site.
• Monitor and record daily attendance in class and at the work experience site.
• Teach student about public transportation and how to access transportation.
• Maintain monthly written communication with consultant and others as identified.
• Provide employers at work sites information about disability awareness and strategies.
• Maintain accurate and complete files for each student.
