Job summary

Democracy Prep Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and individualized student growth. This on-site, part-time role emphasizes high expectations, behavioral support, and collaboration with certified staff.

You will work with students with diverse needs, assist in implementing strategies, monitor work, and participate in trainings. Immediate hire with a tentative end date of January 29, 2027; remote work is not offered.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional role supporting instruction and student growth.
• Experience assisting students with diverse needs in a K-12 setting.
• Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students or small groups with materials and skills.
• Assist certified staff with strategies tailored to each student.
• Monitor work, grade papers, supervise makeup work as assigned.
• Notify staff of any student needs or issues.
• Provide behavioral support during lunches, breaks, and field trips.
• Assist with non-instructional duties like snack time and routines.
• Serve as a resource to the Academic Collaboration Team when intervention is needed.
• Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in staff trainings and follow directions from certified staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by staff.
